Ashley A. Renz serves as Director of Legal & Risk Management at Nelson-Jameson, where she leads the legal and risk function she built for the business. Her work spans contract lifecycle management, commercial negotiations, enterprise risk, compliance and governance, along with insurance and claims across the enterprise. She works closely with internal teams, customers, external partners, and insurance brokers to protect the business while keeping commercial relationships running smoothly.
With over 17 years across the food, dairy, and industrial sectors, Ashley brings a uniquely grounded perspective to her role. Before moving into corporate legal and contract management, she began her career as a large animal veterinary technician supporting family dairy farms. Having rooted her career in the agricultural community, Ashley views every contract and risk strategy as a way to support the people and processes that keep our food supply chain moving forward.
Ashley holds a B.A. in Political Science and a Paralegal Certificate from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, as well as a RIMS-CRMP certification in risk management. An active member of the Association of Corporate Counsel and the Risk Management Society, she blends formal legal training with an engineer-minded attention to detail—a trait she credits to her father. Ashley excels at listening to complex goals, dissecting high-stakes problems, and negotiating practical solutions that keep business moving forward.
