Account Support Representative

Charl Woods holds the position of Account Support Representative (ASR) and works closely with outside account managers to grow relationships and support a dedicated roster of accounts. His core objective is to maintain frequent contact with the customer base, introduce new product opportunities, and handle any emergencies or issues facing their plants. Charl conducts his work internally via emails and calls, and he is also fully responsible for his own personal assigned roster of accounts.

In his day-to-day functions, he handles direct inquiries and orders, either completing them himself or delegating them to the core team. He works to ensure that the Strategic Account Managers (SAM) have the necessary tools before entering a plant for a visit, ensuring they are not surprised by unknown issues. His specific daily tasks include checking and responding to all daily emails within one hour (where feasible), reviewing calendars to coordinate with SAMs, growing margin dollars for Nelson-Jameson by suggesting suitable products and identifying sales opportunities, and coordinating orders, quotes, ETA updates, and reporting. Essentially, his role is to support the outside sales team, grow margin dollars through problem resolution, and coordinate inside teams to ensure smooth operations for both the team and the customers.

He has eight years in the industry and started at Nelson-Jameson as a Customer Service representative. During his time at Nelson-Jameson, He has held numerous roles, including ISR, Assistant Product Manager, Process Repairs/Lab Repairs Manager, Product Manager, and Inside Sales/ASR.
