Strategic Account Manager

Thomas Willard serves as a strategic account manager (SAM) at Nelson-Jameson, a role focused on developing and maintaining long-term customer relationships. His core objective is to showcase the company's capabilities in assisting customers. He specifically works to maintain and build strong relationships focused on key accounts.

Thomas creates strategic plans to visit his accounts in person, focusing on listening and understanding their needs. He calls on multiple departments to expand their contact portfolios within each department and demonstrates the value Nelson-Jameson offers. He provides tailored solutions across various product categories, leveraging support from category specialists and key account managers.

Thomas has 18 years of experience in the food manufacturing, processing, and dairy industry. His prior roles include NE Regional Sales Manager and Sr. Territory Key Account Manager. His first job in the industry was as a US Chemical distributor representative, where he provided solutions in sanitization, cross-contamination, and risk reduction.

He holds a BA from the State University of New York, and he has been recognized as Sales Person of the Year (top sales growth) multiple times, including back-to-back years. He was also chosen to attend an intercultural training with Evonik in Düsseldorf, Germany, and Evonik Negotiation Training. Additionally, he has received many North East Team leader accolades.
