Shawn Kitchner serves as the VP of Operations and Logistics at Nelson Jameson. In this role, Shawn is dedicated to driving growth and efficiency across warehousing, inventory control, and logistics. He focuses on aligning customer and order needs with system capabilities and actively works to expand these capabilities to meet evolving demands. His responsibilities also include leveraging warehousing and logistics capacity to promote 3PL growth, and identifying and implementing technologies and processes that enable safe, high-quality, and efficient warehousing practices. Ultimately, Shawn is responsible for planning and executing growth opportunities for both current and future customer needs.
With 16 years of experience in the industry, Shawn brings a wealth of knowledge to his position. He has held various leadership roles, including Director of Engineering and Director of Operations, and VP of Business Process at Nelson-Jameson. Shawn chose to work in this industry because he is driven by the desire to help create safe food at a larger scale for a growing world population.
Shawn's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science in Fluid, Thermal, Chemical Processes, both achieved with Magna Cum Laude honors. His accomplishments further include obtaining Professional Engineering Status, Lean Practitioner Training/Status, and proficiency in Lean Problem Solving Tools and Techniques. He is also a member of Tau Beta Pi, an Engineering Society. Shawn is characterized by his strong problem-solving skills and his deep understanding of systems and processes.
