Ronald McDonald House

Keeping families close when it matters most.

In 1983, the Marshfield community renovated an area home to become the Ronald McDonald House of Marshfield. Located across the street from the Marshfield Clinic Health System complex, the house served as housing for families of pediatric patients traveling long distances for their care and in need to stay close to the medical facility.

Striving to be part of the solution, RMHC helps to strengthen families and improve lives by increasing parents' ability to spend more time with their children, interact with the clinical care team, and participate in critical medical care decisions. This also reduces parental stress and costs for families during difficult times. The Marshfield Ronald McDonald House opened on December 7, 1983, and was the first in Wisconsin. Since then, two other RMHC houses have been established in Wisconsin—located in Milwaukee and Madison.
