With 47 years of seasoning in the industry, Scott Durham brings a deep understanding and wealth of experience to Nelson-Jameson. In his role as Technical Sales Manager, Scott leverages his extensive background to help customers utilize Nelson-Jameson products. His position heavily involves collaboration and relationship building, often spending time at customer sites, providing training, and demonstrating Nelson-Jameson’s broad ingredient portfolio. Based in the Western Region, Scott is readily available to many of the country's largest dairy and food processing facilities, spending his time in plants across multiple states to understand their customers' expectations.
Scott prioritizes communication, which he considers the most important part of his job. This includes checking on current customers, providing information to prospects, and his favorite part of the position: being on-site with customer personnel for training and trials.
Scott has served as a commercial cheese and butter grader for a number of years and happily judges dairy competitions when invited. He has been involved in two large plant startups and has worked on the integration and programming of a large computer-controlled cheese, whey, and alcohol plant.
Scott's career in the food industry began at a fluid milk plant while going to school, which provided a great introduction to operations and sanitation and gave him an appreciation for the mix of science and art.
Scott enjoys being a mentor and sounding board for new food processing plant managers, sharing his knowledge and experience whenever possible. Scott is also a member of the California Creamery Operator and Oregon Dairy Industries. His prior roles at Nelson-Jameson include national accounts manager and western sales and operations manager.
