Kevin Van Ornum is the VP of Direct Sales at Nelson-Jameson, where his focus is on supporting customers with products from the packaging, ingredients, and chemicals (PIC) department. He is responsible for supporting the direct specialists’ technical efforts with customers and efforts with direct suppliers. He focuses on managing sales pipelines for key direct suppliers, specifically for packaging, cheese opportunities, and preservation. A key part of his role is supporting and challenging his team to uphold customer and supplier goals, and he works to understand customer goals and business needs to address them with direct products.
Kevin has 15 years of industry experience, all with Nelson-Jameson. He began his career at the company in sales and marketing. Growing up on a Dairy Farm influenced his decision to work in the industry, and learning about the dairy business at Nelson-Jameson resonated with his upbringing.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Communications Minor and Marketing Emphasis from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point and serves as a supplier advisor for the North Central Cheese Industry Association.
